These are photos taken at, or around,  our campsite.  We were in the Big Meadow by the north corner, kind of across the road from Camp Inertia (visible in the panoramas) and Camp Nashville.  There's a rough map of our area on the "Various Camps" page.  We set up camp on Friday May 27.  There was a thunderstorm that night.  A larger one the following night, and a major thunderstorm with hail, very close lightning and very serious rain Sunday afternoon.  Several tents around us went down Saturday or Sunday, a few of which were abandoned or thrown out.   There was another thunderstorm mid-week that was much worse in town than at the festival site.

The panoramas are pretty large files (slow to load) and require the QuickTime Plug-in.  They are fun to look at though.  You can move around a 360 degree view and zoom in or zoom out.  If you want to view them offline (which is better quality for some reason), download camp1.mov or camp2.mov from the location listed at the bottom of this page.

On Sunday morning, moving the tent to higher ground after Saturday night's storm.

    Sunday's storm moving in.

The aftermath of the Sunday storm, several inches of rain all around our tent.

    Kerrville flooding.

The road turned into a river.

Looking down the road towards the toilets (near the lower meadow).  This was after everything had dried out.

Just hanging out by the tent.

If you want to download the original, (not optimized for the web) full-sized (very large) version of a photo, go to http://www.richardruane.com/images/Kerrville/Full/ and copy it from there.  Just make a note of the name of the file (such as CIMG0796.jpg) from above so you will know which one(s) to download.
